From an engagement in a Gondala in Venice to an eventual sunny day at Rathsallagh House, Jennifer and Niall wedding journey is a story worth sharing.
It’s the 3rd September and the rain had been pouring all day in Dublin. Even during the church ceremony in Rathfarnham the rain poured. Myself and Sue are usually quite optimistic about Irish weather. It’s rare you don’t get break during the day, but even we were losing our faith. It didn’t show any signs of letting up. It wasn’t until we started the drive inland towards Rathsallagh House and the reception, that the clouds begun to break and we were treated with lovely evening weather (even if the grass was a bit wet!).
Through the speeches it began pretty obvious to us that Jennifer and Niall, were massive GAA fans. Dublin GAA fans in particular, and had attended nearly all Dublin matches together through their season passes. The day was heavily Dublin themed, with light blue bridesmaids dresses coupled with dark navy groomsmen suits and table names in honour of each player on the Dublin team. In fact the couple were heading on honeymoon for the biggest game of all, the All Ireland Senior Football Final, in which Dublin where to face down the might of Mayo, much to Niall’s disappointment. But that disappointment didn’t last long as a special guest made an appearance on the top table during the toasts. All in all, Dublin knew the two guys were such big fans, they decided to tie the match and wait until they returned from Honeymoon for the replay. And we all know which way that went.
Thanks Jennifer and Niall for having us there to capture your special day. It was an honour and we wish you both a happy and exciting married life together.
